Essay, you suck the life out of me.

Well I sat at Denny's and read my essay out loud to myself..at first I was self concious about it because there were kids there...ok they were college age.....then I though F@*% it....I am to old...to care...what these kids think...and I just jabbered away to myself...looking for the beats...I have some corrections to do...that reminds me I want to watch that movie kids again and that one with the girl who lives with her dead father and a doll head she keeps on her finger...I want to see that one...
ok I am yawning time to correct this thing so I can go to bed for work.

Essay, oh how you mock...DN opening

well people finished the actual typing of the essay...so I printed it and now I am going to comb through it for mistakes and put numbers at all my referrances. They want them done in footnote style which will make it easy. Already have all my refs from the last essay and I used the same material..so...at least I made an effort.

on a positive note, the 2nd death note opening...I was suprized...it went from a J-Pop openning to a punk death metal sound..I like it!

first opening-

soon I get to draw again!
got to finish and send the essay first though...
I will be honest though...DN fanart is going to show up -_-;;;;

today's vibes

and then I wrote...

well, people I managed to hand write 8 pages for a section call change in character in my essay. One thing I keep having to tell myself, this essay is not about you, it is about Brainy...ok I know he is a blond haired, green skinned ultra intellegent guy from another planet, that also happens to be fictional....but I really relate to him... <_<;;;;

Essay from Hell, how I love you Brainiac 5

ok
here is the deal...
a dude by the name of Timothy Callahan is doing a book on the LSH and through another blog I got directed toward his. I saw what the book was on and being a fan of the LSH, I yammered about topics that could be used and he said I should write about one of these topic which was: Character developement of Brainiac 5 in the Post Zero hour continuity. See, I love this character so much, he is my favorite in all of fiction, the post zero hour version. The others are cute and all, but I still love my post zero hour one the best. If you have read my blog or journals at all, you can see I am not so good with the formal writeing....my mind goes a thousand miles an hour, as does my speech, with random studders and my fingers are getting better at typing my thoughts...but they are so random. I sent a version that was so random, I think it disturbed him...then after Miss Joni had time to read it, she has been looking at my rambling for 10 years, she sat me down and said: "ok we are going to write an outline for you to follow." so based on the first draft she asked questions of me, who is an encyclopedia at this point, about the character. She corrected my first paragraph, gave me some rules to follow: "no I's or me's, no questions, state it if you think it." sent the Callahan dude the first page to make sure it was more of what he was looking for....no response....I am worried....hope he did not give up on me. this thing is july 31st. ARRRRGH! I am trying so hard. But I lack focus, even when I want to do stuff, and I have such a short attention span...see I will be into something for like a week...but my current barricade, my job, prevents me from doing stuff and sucks the life out of me, so I look like a lump on a log.
but strangely enough I managed to get two pages of the outline completed, except one part I skipped. Brainy and Lyle's relationship....I have so much to say, yet can't express it. If you ask me about it, I will yammer on for ever.
sigh...time to go find a place to write...home is not a good place, to many distractions, someday a studio would be nice,
that has an air conditioner that works.

Some true neutral [people] actively support balance in the world, and seek to avoid having any one side, law or chaos, good or evil, become too powerful over them or anyone else, and will work against whichever side is the most powerful. They tend to side with the underdog in any situation, and are often opportunistic in their actions.

True neutral is committed to the avoidance of extremes, and is non-judgemental.

Contemporary Art Appreciation with Emphasis on: Illustration, Concept, and Sequential Art

No websites today, well technically yesterday... [work 3pm-1am], but a drawing of the teacher. He seem rather forlorn-ed yesterday, I am guessing it is becaused he managed to injury himself at work last week and has been limping around with a cane ever since. Poor kid, hope he is better before going to Comic Con 2007 - San Diego.

Actually this brings up another idea....I have been wanting to draw the 2nd shift co-workers in blood with knives. Like each one just finished killing someone. ponder....hmmmm. I would never show them the work..people can get so snippy if you draw them...that why I usually draw them in one of my other species and then they never know it is them..personly I always find that artist versions of me look much better than the original.

Your art sucks!

well got that line again.
"You can't do art!"

everyone is aloud to have an opinion.

But to tell me I should not be aloud to do art...
yeah maybe if you hold a gun to my head...pfffft!

as my boss put it, art is subjective.
I think people forget that.

Now that I have heard that line...
will I tear down all my art, kill my blog, remove all my deviations? that would be a NO. I do art because I enjoy it, not to please the masses. if others happen to like it...that is a bonus of course! *sqwee*

Trinity: the haunting of Tim

This another idea of Tim being haunted by Bart and Kon.
In it's rough under drawing stage.
original size: 11x14 inches

when I originally did the thumbs for this one, Binkley's "anxiety closet" came to mind and I just had to look at Outland and Bloom County comics, by Berkeley Breathed.

More Barts

Four more Barts for the angels picture.
Will not finish off the costume until bristol transfer.

Ok, the one in the upper right, is Bart as a kitten. Bart reminds me of a kitten, just watching my cats and a manga given to me, direct from Japan. It is the life story of a kitten...something TokyoPop would never bring here and translate....just no market for it...I would buy it though.
Any there are scenes of the kitten making plains, "I am going to get out of here and...ooo look a string..." and the kitten would tear off after it. Very short attention span, very Bart.

oh Jenru if you are reading this...can I barrow your scanner when you are out of the country?
Please?

Comic Con 2007 - San Diego

I have been hearing about this at least since January...if not earlier. The whole thing sounds so fun, but I just saw the mape for it...Map on the drawingboard....OMG I would go insane. I can't take that many people. I have been to 2 conventions: one comic, one anime...it really creeped me out. But at the comic one, Mark Waid signed my Kingdom Come books.....
someday I may have the courage.

True DC Trinity: Bart, Tim, and Kon

I am starting the fan art...got 30+ thumbnails
for the trinity, in the wake of the 2nd members death...

Here is the first one I am working on.

The Angels of Haunting

The Tim sketch
one stick figure is Kon and the rest are Bart.

The Barts and Kon...started...

Well, the Ego died just over a year ago.
The Id died two weeks ago.
Now it is just the Super Ego, all by himself.
wiki Definition
And if you don't believe me...here is the bit from
the Young Justice TPB

Something needs to happen to Tim.
They should kill him.
I cannot see him just going on
after the other two parts of himself have died...
and Bart and Kon would never just settle for death either...they
would find away to haunt Tim.
They were a Trinity! There just has to be more to their story...
I have some very odd ideas....but I could see people either
really liking it or really ticked.

Transformers made me happy

Transformers was my movie for the summer.

everyone else will have issue with it
but I liked it.
it was a bit fun-strange hearing the voices from the cartoon.
The characters acted how I remember them, neat!
a few warnings:
-Run Time: 143 min
-Rated: PG-13 (Violents, Crude Humor, Swearing)
-Bit of Spielberg-sap

Fun Facts:
-Each of Ironhide's guns is made of ten thousand parts
Such detail required thirty-eight hours to render each frame of animation
-They looked at actor Liam Neeson's performances to
inspire the animation of Optimus Prime.
-Bumblebee's behaviour was based on
Michael J. Fox's performance in Back to the Future.
-Initially, fans were divided over the film due to the radical
redesigns of many characters. Michael Bay even received death threats.
(ok these are the scary people that chase me away from conventions)
(come on, death threat? people change can be fun)

Finally:
If you know me,
in the real world,
we are on good terms,
and you are not a creepy,
I will gladly go see
this movie with you.

I want to see it again!
think I will look for an concept art book on it as well...

Eric Canete

I enjoy the movement this individual portrays in his pieces and Catwoman's floppy ears.
The line work is very fluid in the 90-min sketch pieces...like that.

Ben Balistreri
